Our first Reno

The first renovation job that we took on was a small 12sq 3 bedroom house in Seaford. It was in desperate need of a total overhaul, but just what we were after! It had a land size that was perfect for a sub division, so it took us 9 weeks to renovate it. We would go over every night after work, and every week-end until it was done. It was owned by an older man who smoked inside, so it was very smelly and stained. Long story short we gutted the whole place, installed heating, cooling, painted, re tiled and carpeted, including a new kitchen, bathroom & laundry.

It was a great learning experience for both of us, and turned out to be a good investment. We got our money back when it sold, and it sold back in just 5 days! It provided us with the land to build the house on the back, so we were happy with the overall outcome.

So I caved…..

I’m Jade and I am addicted to shoes & cushions!

Blogging has never really been my thing, its hugely popular, which is probably why I haven’t been interested. I tend to go against the grain with certain things, I like some originality in my life.

But I have people ask me all the time, why I don’t blog our renovation and development projects. So I thought as we are in the middle of renovating our second project, and about to start our next owner building project, I probably should document it though a blog. It’s also an easier way for us to go back and reference certain aspects of it all.

As a child I always enjoyed arts and crafts, and always decorated and re-arranged by room. The older I got the more interested I became in building and design. Luckily for me I married someone with the same interests, and together we have begun our property development journey.
